Networking early modern Irish women

Abstract Over the last decade, network analysis has developed as an approach within digital humanities a wider array of tools become available to scholars, and these approaches are now beginning make impact on disciplines history English. This article presents overview different ways approaching analysis. It assesses recent projects see how they accounted for gender in their datasets what can be learnt about early modern women from projects. then looks at Ireland engaging with analysis, discussing used by RECIRC introducing MACMORRIS's Dictionary Irish biography (D.I.B.) Bardic Poetry Database (B.P.D.), looking latter is attempting overcome unconscious bias inherent D.I.B.'s selection lives period between 1541 1660. Finally, it points some issues we scholars face when this methodology, such access required training collaboration, arguing that while not unique challenges study Ireland, important debates enhance scholarship field.
